FINANCE AND BUDGET
97% of Central Health’s budget is allocated to health care delivery for people with low income
- Central Health maintains the lowest tax rate among the six major urban hospital districts
- The Central Health finance team was awarded the GFOA Distinguished Budget Presentation Award, the highest form of recognition in government budgeting.
A third-party firm conducts an annual audit of Central Health finances. To date, Central Health has only ever received “clean” assessments.
At the request of Travis County Commissioners, Central Health undergoes a five-year performance review to evaluate the effectiveness and efficiency of the organization and provide recommendations about opportunities for performance improvement. The next is scheduled for 2023.
