Renewing your MAP or MAP Basic card

Renew your membership card before it expires so you always have coverage.

Your active membership card is the best way to make sure you get the care you need when you need it.

Helpful Tips
  • Start your renewal process at least 30 to 45 days before your card expires.
  • MAP card members renew every 6 months.
  • MAP Basic card members renew every 12 months.
  • Look next to EXP to find out when your MAP or MAP Basic card expires.

How do I renew?

Renewing your membership is easy.

GATHER the documents you need (Listed below):

  1. SUBMIT your application online or call 512-978-8130 to get started.
  2. OR APPLY in person at several locations across Travis County. Call 512-978-8130 to schedule an appointment.
  3. WATCH for important updates from Central Health. These can include mailed letters, phone calls, emails, or text messages.

Documents Needed

Proof that you Live in Travis County

Examples:

  • Lease agreement
  • Current utility bill
  • Mail postmarked (last 30 days)

Picture ID (Adults Only)

Examples:

  • Driver’s license
  • Foreign ID
  • Passport

Proof of U.S. Citizenship or Residency for your Household Members, if Applicable

Examples:

  • Birth certificate
  • Legal Permanent Resident Card
  • Passport

Proof of your Household’s Monthly Income

Examples:

  • Check stubs from the last 30 days
  • Current year Retirement or Social Security Benefits Letter
  • Self-employment income

Proof of Your Household Size

Your household includes yourself, your spouse, and children living with you under age 18.

Notice: The Travis County Healthcare District d/b/a Central Health adopted a tax rate that will raise more taxes for maintenance and operations than last year’s tax rate. The tax rate will effectively be raised by 6.0 percent and will raise taxes for maintenance and operations on a $100,000 home by approximately $6.18 (six dollars and eighteen cents).
