Seton Healthcare names exec to oversee growth south, east of Austin

Dr. Fausto Meza, previously the chief medical officer and physician lead for Resolute Health, was named vice president of medical affairs for Seton’s south region, or Hays, Caldwell, and Bastrop counties. His term started on November 30th.

The Austin Medical-Legal Partnership, a joint program with People’s Community Clinic that helps low-income medical patients manage health-related legal issues, has received a $15,000 grant from the Texas Bar Foundation.
Anti-Obamacare South Warms to Medicaid Expansion

So far 30 states have opted to expand Medicaid and 20 more traditionally conservative states have refused. But this may be changing as Louisiana has elected its first Democratic governor in over a decade, and Tennessee governor Bill Haslam is vocally backing expansion.
