Central Health Postpones and Moves Public Hearing for Fiscal Year 2022 Budget and Tax Rate to Austin City Hall

(Austin) – The Central Health Board of Managers will hold a public hearing and vote on the Travis County healthcare district’s Fiscal Year (FY) 2022 budget and tax rate at 5 p.m. on Thursday, Sept. 9 at Austin City Hall, 301 W. Second Street, Austin, TX 78701.

The public hearing was previously scheduled for Sept. 2 at Central Health’s administrative building but was relocated to Austin City Hall due to concerns about the accessibility of the facility during heightened COVID-19 guidelines.

A quorum of the Central Health Board will be physically present at City Hall, while members of the public are encouraged to observe the meeting and participate in the public hearing virtually or by phone. In-person attendance is also allowed.

Community members will have the opportunity to provide input online, by phone, or in-person during the public hearing. Members of the public who wish to speak during the public hearing must sign up by:

  1. Completing the Public Communication Online Form by 3:30 p.m. – www.centralhealth.net/meeting-sign-in
  2. Calling 512-978-9190 and leaving a voicemail by 3:30 p.m.
  3. Signing up in person at the physical location of the meeting by 5 p.m.

Notice: The Travis County Healthcare District d/b/a Central Health adopted a tax rate that will raise more taxes for maintenance and operations than last year’s tax rate. The tax rate will effectively be raised by 6.0 percent and will raise taxes for maintenance and operations on a $100,000 home by approximately $6.18 (six dollars and eighteen cents).
