Public Invited to Community Conversation about Central Health 2020 Budget

April 25, 2019

(Austin) – Central Health will hold a Community Conversation to kick off a five-month long public involvement process for its Fiscal Year (FY) 2020 budget. The Travis County healthcare district’s $258.4 million budget for FY19 pays for hospital, primary, specialty, behavioral, and non-clinical services for Travis County residents with low income – more than 1 in 7 residents. During the Community Conversation, residents will learn about how the district leverages local tax dollars to fund health care in Travis County, and will weigh in on Central Health’s strategic priorities for 2020.

Other public involvement opportunities include:

  • April 30 – May 31 – Online survey: CentralHealth.net/2020Budget
  • June 19 – Budget Engagement Report: CentralHealth.net/2020Budget
  • July 29 – Community Conversation: The 2020 Proposed Budget
  • Aug. 28 & Sept. 4 – Budget public hearings

The Central Health Board of Managers will discuss and adopt the FY 2020 budget September 18. Travis County Commissioners are expected to vote on the healthcare district’s budget September 24.
